Guava-Orange Margaritas

I'm heading to Cancun this Sunday and even though it will not be an escape from this wretchedly hot weather we've been having in Southern California, at least I'll be greeted with crystal clear waters and the luxurious amenities of an all-inclusive resort. All I can say is, I'm going to be drinking a lot of girly, tropical drinks and no, I'm not ashamed to admit it. You know what they say... when in Rome, or in this case... when in Cancun.

Anyways, I can't wait for bottomless margaritas and pina coladas, and hopefully they'll be as tasty as this margarita here ;)

Guava-Orange Margaritas
Yields: 8 1/2 cups
Adapted from here.

2 cups orange juice
2 cups tequilla
1 cup grand marnier
3 cups guava puree
coarse sugar, such as turbinado, for rims

Combine everything in a large pitcher. Refrigerate until chilled.

    1. I got mine at a local Mexican market, but I've also seen them in Persian markets! I used Goya brand but if you can't find it, they also sell some online :)

  5. Gorgeous photo. I will be trying this drink soon, as I'm in Southern California too and yes, it's sweltering! Hope you had a great getaway in Cancun!

  6. I just made these today. Couldnt find guave puree so I used guava nectar instead. They are a bit too sweet for me, probably because of the substitution but everyone else seems to enjoy them! Thanks for sharing!

  7. Just made a pitcher two days ago, I couldnt find guava puree so I used guava nectar instead. They turned out too sweet for me so I added lime juice from half a lime and that did the trick. Delicious. Next time I'll go to a latin market to see if they have guava puree. Thanks so much for sharing, your photography is amazing!
