New Tunes.

I don't know if I mentioned this to you guys before, but a while back ago I mentioned being an undergraduate who was finishing her biology major. Well, now a couple years after graduating, I'm successfully in Physician's Assistant school.

I've been out of the school rhythm for a while, and it's been hard for me to get my groove back, but it's slowly coming along! I think the thing that gets me through these long, hard days the most is my music. I cannot for the life of me study in silence. I used to study with the TV on as background sounds, but since I've been living with no TV in my new home - it's been background music. These are my favorites lately - hope you love 'em just as much as I do.

xoxo

doja cat . so high
[i'm completely in love with this girl. her voice is beyond gorgeous and this song is buttery smooth]

chrome sparks . marijuana
[this song's title might put some of you off, but it is seriously one of the most gorgeous songs i've heard it a while. it has an awesome beat and perfect for when i'm studying all night]

[great song with a OG rap vibe]

[i'm in love with this song, especially when i'm going out. it's fun with a great beat]

baths . miasma sky
[this song is genius. that is all i have to say about it.]

[my go-to summer song]

[ciara is back ladies and gents! and with a bang. she is looking mighty fine these days.]

azealia banks . 212
[old song that never gets old for me. just always fun.]

geographer . lover's game
[ugh i had free tickets to see them at the getty! can you imagine how awesome that would be? unfortunately school has been kicking my butt... so i'm just left depressed and listening to this amazing song.]

[this song has good vibes - perfectly chill]

[undeniably gorgeous instrumentals]

ellie goulding . you, my everything
[tailored for the new skins series! the series has kinda fizzled out but it still has an awesome music director]

Mixtape

some old, some new. all love.

The ILLZ . Closer

this song shows the full spectrum of what hip-hop can really be. tinged with a bit of alternative-rock, unique and emotional.

i've always loved RAC. they've always made remixes that were fun and unique. now that they're producing their own music, you can still expect them to bring the fun.

A$AP Rocky . Goldie (Produced by Hit-Boy)
A$AP Rocky . Palace (Produced by Clams Casino)
A$AP Rocky . Bass (MartyParty Remix)

it's safe to say that a$ap is one of my current favorite rappers, along with logic, which I'm also featuring below. rocky just has an exquisite taste for beats and this martyparty remix is super grimey - just how i like it (sometimes).

aaaaaand he's back, ladies and gentleman. i'm officially hooked... again.

Dirty South & Alesso . City of Dreams

if there's anything dirty south & alesso can do, it's definitely making an uplifting song. and this is just that.

Goldroom . Fifteen (Xtrafunk Remix)

beachy vibes with some funk thown in. i'm all for it.

julie mcknight is a powerhouse and an21 & max vangelli brought the beats to back her up. definitely a banger.

Volta Bureau . Alley Cat

one of my absolute faves right now. the way volta describes themselves perfectly describes this song: "a cosmic, hypnotic, somewhat psychedelic take on house/ techno/ disco."

i always have love for avicii. people say he's changed; gone too commercial. maybe partnering with mike posner will make people hate him more but i think this song still has his signature sound - and anyone with a knee-jerk opposition to anything popular is destructive.

Matt & Kim .  Let Go

classic matt & kim sound. always a definite sing-along.

calvin harris AND florence?! how could it not be good? i ask you.

the kind of song that grabs you immediately, pulls you in, continues to intrigue you. it's emotion laid bare with a super soulful melody.

the instant this song plays, you can tell it's an alesso track - he just has that characteristic sound. anyways, i love collaborations. talent + talent + talent = boom.

Ellie Goulding . Anything Could Happen (Blood Diamonds Remix)

i don't know why it took the world so long to get on the ellie train, but now that they're on it's time to get on her new release. and this funky remix of it.

VCMG . Aftermaths (Gesaffelstein Remix)

i've said it before, i'll say it again. big, BIG fan of gesaffelstein. ugh that dark, french, moody thing really gets me going i guess. super heavy tech house that is straight up menacing.

a real beauty. hot chip is retro for me; brings back all these old memories and this song is a good one to reminisce to.

Logic . Set the Tone
Logic Relaxation

as i said previously, logic still remains one of my favorite rappers at the moment. i had the chance to see him live and he's not totally on his game spitting live yet but he's still a newbie so i'll give him a pass. his recorded tracks though...  genius. the way he artfully samples and intelligently rhymes will fast track him to being the next big thing.

Patrickreza . Come Alive Ft. Ingrid

seriously, these vocals. ingrid croons gorgeously as patrickreza does what he does best: dub.

clockwork (dj) = rl grime. whaaaat? anyways i love clockwork, so it's not a shocker that i love rl grime too. anyways this remix of mercy is just a bomb.

The Lighthouse & The Whalers . Pioneers

perfectly pretty folk-pop.

Tribalistas . Ja Sei Namorar

the instant you play this song, you get hooked. you might not understand what they're saying but it doesn't even matter because you want to singalong anyways.

Now Tweeting + Mixtape

Hi!

As per usual, my latest and greatest songs of the moment.

Not as per usual, just wanted to let ya'll know I'm on twitter now! I'm still fudging around with the whole mechanics of the thing but I've managed to tweet a bit so far. Hopefully if you have any questions, I'll be able to answer you there on a more personal level :)

little dragon {ritual union - tensnake remix}

smoooooooooth is the best word to describe this song. her voice, buttaaah baby pure butttahh.

bodies of water {open rhythms}

i'd like to travel route 66 while listening to this song. just sayin'...

theophilus london {why even try - RAC remix}

of course, i'm always a big fan of RAC remixes, and this one is no exception. but i happen to especially love the fun retro feel to this song.

swedish house mafia vs. enur vs. congorock {one vs. calabria vs. babylon}

this is like EPICx3. formula: take three incredibly epic house songs and mash them together to make the biggest banger ever!!!! but, i will always have a special place in my heart for shm!

gyptian {hold yuh- major lazer remix}

i can't for the life of me figure out what this type of music is called, the name escapes me, but it's an amazing mix of reggae and house. this song has amazing vocals and is backed by great beats. major lazer win!

koko vs. prutataaa {first state mashup - sander van doorn vs. afrojack, r3hab}

two of the best house songs, mixed to become an ultimate MEGAsong.

digitalism {miami showdown}

showdown is right! i can totally see this in an incredibly cinematic fight scene or something like that. amazinggg.

robyn {with every heartbeat, acoustic version}

i am a HUGE fan of robyn. her music is so fun, but this acoustic version of 'with every heartbeat' shows this tender side that i love seeing!

clams casino {i'm god, instrumental version}

such a chill song. perfect for this windows down, hair flying in the wind kind of mood i've been in lately.

the beatles {and i love her - allure remix}

the beatles were instilled in me since i was in utero. i don't think my dad instilled remixed beatles in me, but it found its way to me in the end.

alessi's ark {simple man, lynyrd skynyrd cover}

folky female vocals always do me in. is it in my genes? i just can't help but love it!

dirty gold {california sunrise}

this song epitomizes it's title. it's crazy how a song can epitomize my home so well!

black light dinner party {small boxes}

i'm a sucker for great instrumentals. this isn't strictly instrumental but it has an utterly gorgeous, jaw-dropping instrumental backbone.

beethoven {moonlight sonata - sound remedy remix}

if you hadn't noticed, i love remixes. the original will always be the original... meaning i will always love it. but remixes have a way of reinterpreting and breathing new life to a song. beethoven remixed?!?!? YES.

katy perry {last friday night - laidback luke remix}

pure F.U.N.

gta ft. zashanell {u & i}

ahhhhmazing! avicii has been playing this song in all of his recent sets and i've been lapping it up.

Ólafur Arnalds {brotsjor}

something about icelandic music!!! there's always this ethereal quality that seemingly can't be produced anywhere else but iceland. iceland, i thank you very much for your music.

celeste lear {light through the branches - kris p. kreme remix}

i love 'so you think you can dance.' if you haven't heard of it before, it's basically this amazing television show that showcases all kinds of gorgeous dance types. i also love it for introducing new music to me, this is one amazing song. i happened to find an even more amazing remix of it... YAY.

september {party in my head - coucheron remix}

another euro-teen with remixes? that may be a redundant fact but it never gets old. and this song is anything but - fun with an insane drop.
